Meet the Promoters

  • Angie Abad

    Professor Angie Abad earned her 8th degree black belt in Kajukenbo. As well as earning her 5th degree black belt, under Grandmaster Girle Abad and the late Shizu Allen Abad, in their family style of Hung Gar Kenbo. Hung Gar Kenbo is a combination of Kajukenbo, Wushu, Kung Fu and Taichi. This blend is unique to the Abad family and A.M.A.I.K.A. (Abad Martial Arts International Kajukenbo Association). Professor Angie has won numerous championship and has appeared in the top martial arts magazines. Currently, as co-founder of Abad Mancia Martial Arts, Professor Angie shares her family's martial arts and Hula with her community. Her intent is to bring people together through Aloha and to experience Ohana.

  • Jayson Mancia

    Sensei Jayson Bingham Mancia earned his 5th degree black belt under Kaiso Neal and Shihan Gene Mancia, also known as the Mancia Brothers. Their family style is called Kakubo. A contemporary blend of Okinawa Te, Lima Lama, Aikido, Escrima, Kung Fu and Boxing. Sensei Jayson continues to learn other arts Kickboxing and Grappling. He won many championships, most notably with the double katana and has appeared in top martial arts. After competition, he volunteered teaching in LA schools sharing arts and culture. In which he credits his Taiko Instructor, Aimee Yamada Sensei, for teaching him and opening the door to the community. Currently, as co-founder of Abad Mancia Martial Arts, Sensei Jayson shares these arts in hope to empower the next generation while strengthening the bonds with their families.
